Harsha Leather

  • Type: Up-and-Coming Studio

It's no secret that established brands rely on global supply chains for many of their best-selling leather products. Increasingly, these offshore studios—many of which are built on long-standing local leather-working traditions—are developing their own high quality brands and product lines.

Harsha Leather Goods got their start in 2003 creating leather bags for diverse consumer brands such as Romeo Gigli, Harley Davidson, and the Saville Row Company. They hail from Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, India, a vibrant river city is known for its literary, artistic and revolutionary heritage. Kolkata has always been an important leather hub, and in 1992, many of the city's tanneries and leatherworkers moved into a new, integrated leather-industrial complex. This move allowed for closer collaboration and ensured the industry had dedicated access to modern water and waste treatment facilities.

We're proud to work with global studios like Harsha Leather as they undertake the important journey of developing and owning their own brands, product lines, and artistic vision for North American markets.
